Is electronic component replacement a trend?

Is your PCB board out of stock with its MCU? Original manufacturer lead times are typically over ten weeks. Finding a perfect replacement directly translates to lower costs and shorter lead times. One case shows that a new energy vehicle company reduced costs by 18% and shortened lead times from 52 weeks to 2 weeks after replacing imported chips in its BMS system with domestically produced solutions.

Alternative passive parts are not simply imitation. Integrated circuit replacement is not only a trend but has become a definite long-term development direction in the current electronics industry. It's more like a profound transformation driven by supply chain security, technological advancements, and cost optimization.

Current IC parts replacement solution is not a comprehensive phenomenon but follows a clear hierarchical path:

Mature sectors (low-to-mid-range): High domestic production rates have established a dominant advantage. Display panels account for over half of the global market share; PCBs account for over 50%; domestic production rates in civilian sectors such as pressure sensors exceed 50%.

High-end sectors remain highly dependent on imports. The barriers to entry for high-end components lie in systemic capabilities such as material formulations, production processes, and precision equipment. Breakthroughs will take time, but the substitution potential is enormous. The domestic production rate of automotive-grade MCUs is approximately 10%; EUV lithography machines are still in the R&D stage.

The substitution process is evolving along the path of "consumer-grade → industrial/automotive-grade → high-end computing power." In the passive component MLCC market, the top five global manufacturers (Murata, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, etc.) hold a 77.3% market share, while domestic leaders Fenghua Advanced Technology and Sanhuan Group only hold 1.9% and 2.5% of the global market share, respectively. This precisely illustrates the vast potential for high-end substitution.

Electric Parts replacement is shifting from an "optional" to a "must-have." It serves as both a passive defense against changes in the external environment and a proactive move to upgrade industries and build a more resilient supply chain. This trend will continue to bring tremendous development opportunities to companies with core technological breakthroughs.
